Artist Bio
Mary Keith has called Mississippi home for most of her life.
After living briefly in Tennessee, Mary returned to Mississippi to raise her family and build her career. Following her recent retirement from a local private school, she has devoted herself full-time to her lifelong passion for oil painting.
Extensive travels throughout the United States and abroad provide endless inspiration for her work. She often photographs the landscapes, architecture, and changing light she encounters, later transforming those memories into paintings in her studio. Closer to home, she enjoys capturing the beauty of Mississippi’s skies, saying, “I often step outside my front door to photograph a sunrise or sunset that will later become a painting.” Mary and her husband are blessed with a blended family of six children and twelve grandchildren.
