When asked how long she has been an artist, Debbie always answers “all of my life “. Raised by an artist, Debbie’s mother always provided the tools to be creative. Her love for watercolor began while studying Graphic Design at Arkansas State University, 40 years ago. Upon graduation the next 36 years were spent raising a family, owning a personalization gift store, and painting whenever she had the chance. While Debbie enjoys painting all subject matters, she is most recognized for her pet and children portraits.
It wasn’t until retiring to Oxford Mississippi in 2009 that she was able to pursue a career as a full time artist.
Debbie is a member of the Mississippi Plein Air Painters and Plein Air South , as well as the Oxford Artist Guild, serving as their current President.
She enjoys sharing her passion of watercolors by teaching Adult Watercolor classes through the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council.
