Artist Bio
I have lived in Jackson all my life. My mother was an artist and raised me with a very high appreciation of art in all forms. However, oils are my passion. I’ve always sketched but took up serious painting in my early 30’s. Having studied with several artists over the years; Bob Tompkins, Lucy Mazzafero, Joe Anna Arnett, Shana Kuntz, Stephanie Birdsall, Qiang Huang, Roger Dale Brown, Elizabeth Robbins and Kevin MacPherson but my main mentor has been Bob. He is truly a living Master in our time.
The lights and darks, along with the play on colors next to one another, as well as mixing the different temperatures and values, are what keep me striving to paint better paintings. There is always a learning curve. I don’t think any artist can know it all!
