Artist Bio
Mary Qasim has studied art, theatre, sculpture, printmaking and costume set design. She particularly enjoys drawing and painting facial expression and also experimenting with abstract design. A prevailing concern for her is to establish both rhythm and unity through balance of interacting shapes, color and texture. Mary holds a BA in theater from Bennington College in Vermont and a MA in English and African American Literature from North Carolina A&T University. She paints in the acrylic, ink, mixed media, oil, pastel and watercolor medias.
