Artist Bio
Beth Dean, a Mississippi native, has painted since early childhood.
She was classically trained in her early fine arts education, studying under several noted Mississippi artists.
Beth holds a B.S. in Interior Design, with an elected emphasis in Renaissance Art History. After over 20 years as a commercial interior designer and owning her own firm, Beth retired from "the corporate world", fulfilling her life-long passion of being a full-time artist.
Beth's paints in oil to create her impressionistic paintings. She draws inspiration from her native Mississippi, and, as a confirmed "Italophile", she travels extensively in Italy which also influences much of her works.
Beth is best known for her intense color palette, and most notably her skillful expression of water and skies. It is Beth's propensity for travel and keen observation of everyday life, whether at home or in far flung places, that makes her works fresh and vibrant.
Beth teaches Oil Painting classes, Plein Air workshops as well as Travel Sketch Journaling Workshops. She gratefully resides with her architect husband, Richard, on a lake in Madison County, Mississippi.
Her two sons, Morgan and Carson, are her greatest joy.
